With high volumes of hype surrounding the recent North American International Auto Show in Detroit, most car lovers aren't looking towards the next automotive extravaganzas in line. Lakeland Mazda understands this and is more than happy to stay one step ahead of the game. We've scoured the industry's information pool and found out that the next-generation Mazda6 will make its official, worldwide premier at the 2012 Paris Auto Show early this fall.
For consumers looking to get a preview of the new Mazda6, look no further than the automaker's Takeri Concept.
Company officials have revealed that the forthcoming Mazda6 offering will take many of its styling cues from the Takeri and integrate new Mazda innovations such as the KODO - Soul of Motion design language and next-gen SkyActiv technology. As for the powertrain, think the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder found in the current Mazda3, only better. The Takeri concept makes use of the automaker's fresh SkyActiv diesel engine which bumps up output to around 165-hp and more than 300-lb./ft. of torque. Though we can't say for sure whether or not the revamped Mazda6 will get this engine, Mazda has said it will make its way to North America in one new Mazda model or another.
