Suzuki Stays Teamed Up With VW

The Suzuki Kizashi may be a new hit for the Japanese auto maker, but they didn't do it alone. The company had help from partner Volkswagen. Those ties were about to be severed, though it now seems that is not the case.
According to reports, VW will keep a 19.9% stake in Suzuki business. Volkswagen acquired Suzuki stake at the end of 2009 for around $2.36 billion. The auto maker hoped to benefit from Suzuki's expertise in the small-car segment, along with its large presence throughout India. Suzuki vehicles are highly popular in China and Japan as well. Aside from Kizashi in the US and Canada, Japan and India recently received a special edition of the Swift for 2012.
"For Suzuki, this was the biggest goal of the alliance. But this hasn't materialized," said Yasuhito Harayama, executive vice-president who has been covering the Suzuki / VW deal.1
When you come into Liberty Mazda Suzuki, in Libertyville, you'll experience a qualified sales team ready to help you test drive (and hopefully drive off) in the new Suzuki of your choosing.
