Compact connoisseurs feasted their eyes on the metallic green, white-roofed Regina concept at the Tokyo Auto Show earlier this month. According to an official press release the model is, "a vision of a next-generation global compact car with excellent fuel efficiency and low emissions."¹

As officials suggest, "green" doesn't just apply to the electric hue covering the sedan's exterior. The sporty little concept gets a jaw-dropping, 75-miles per gallon fuel-economy rating thanks to its 1,600-pound body weight and excellent aerodynamics. What's more, when using petrol as a fuel source, the REGINA achieves carbon dioxide emissions as low as 70g/km.

At this point, the Suzuki Regina is only for show and the automaker hasn't released powertrain details. However, we've poked around and heard whispers of a turbocharged, 800-cc engine with start-stop and regenerative breaking.
